A great amount of unity comes from doing ministry together. It is our desire to touch every home and every life in San Juan County with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Every Monday from 4:30-6:00pm we serve a free meal to anyone in our community who would like to come. Food is prepared and served with a smile by FBC Bloomfield members who love to connect with the community and serve. You are warmly welcomed to join us any Monday.
San Juan County Jail Ministry
This ministry seeks to bring restoration through Jesus Christ to the lives of inmates. Visits are made every other Sunday from 2:00-3:00pm. Church members are welcome to join this team and minister in the Jail together. All members of this team are background checked and trained to minister within the jail cell.
Continual outreach events and activities happen all year long at FBC Bloomfield. Every chance we get, we want to serve our community and share the love of Jesus as we go. Every year we do block parties, a county fair booth, a sportsman dinner, family fall festival, thanksgiving dinner, upward sports as well as participate in Bloomfield Days and the local Adopt-a-Local School programs. Keep an eye on our website and facebook page for details on upcoming outreach events.
Senior Ladies Quilting Ministry
Our senior ladies have a wonderful quilting ministry that meets every Thursday at 9:00am. They provide handmade quilts to ministries throughout San Juan County. If you love to quilt or want to learn, come join us any time! We love quilting, but at the same time we love enjoying each other's company and growing in Christ together as we share our lives.
Our community garden gives us the opportunity to help those in need, especially during these difficult economic times. A Community Garden is not just a place to grow food. It is an opportunity to express our faith in the community and interact with God and His creation. Working together as a church community provdes a wonderful sense of accomplishment and offers tremendous opportunity to strengthen intergenerational ties as young and old work side by side, weeding, watering, and planting.
On the first Saturday of each month First Baptist Bloomfield distributes grcoeries to families in need. It is our desire to serve and "love on" the community. Through this ministry we are able to communicate the love of Christ in a tangible way. Familes can sign up for the food distribution by calling or visiting the church office. The distribution begins at 9:00 AM.
Sycamore Housing in our transitional housing ministry. The vision of this ministry is to be a place of God's hope and healing that empowers families seeking to transition their lives from economic hardship and uncertainty to a life of stability, self-sufficiency, and service to the community. We currently have three transitional housing units. Application for housing can be made at the church office.
